There is a gap in the cloud where the sun shines down, Bringing warmth to the trees below deeply rooted in ground.

The leaves look brighter as if they just wiped their frown, Basking in the glorious attention welcome and newfound.

There is a gap in the cloud where the sun shines down, On the dull waters that otherwise looked so brown. The ripples have a gleeful sway, As they hope the sunshine would always stay.

There is a gap in the cloud where the sun shines down, On the husk of hares that were stiff with cold. The little ones bound in the grass freshly mown, As their mommy dearest worries with fears untold.

There is a gap in the cloud where the sun shines down, On the lonely young man heading towards the town. His walk has a rejuvenated spring, Thinking about the new promises the day could bring!
