In the dark of a night Goes forth, the song of a maiden, out of sight,

On and on she sings a song so fine,

Filling the heart with joy line after line.

The breezy night, filled with the scent of flowers so strong,

The branches sway, as if dancing to the tune of the song.

Twinkling stars studded in the sky, darkest of the blue,

Beneath was a garden full of bloom in every hue.

Gushing into the silence, so clear was the melody,

Was it gloomy? Was it joyous? There was parody!

Was she mourning?Was she rejoicing?

Though whichever, singing was she a song so enticing.

Was she an angel? Was she a nymph?

On a kingle was she, amidst the stream of glistening lymph.

O what a sight!!Oh what an enchantress was she!!

Whose beauty made even the fishes cavort with glee!
