With SF you get the best of both worlds! I'm always in awe of how much, nature is an integral part of a very man made city.
In my latest piece, I wanted to explore the tension between the iconic, rigid geometry of the Golden Gate Bridge and the wild, organic energy of the surrounding cypress trees. Using a Meta-Fauvist palette, I swapped traditional shadows for deep magentas and electric purples to capture the "vibration" of the light rather than just the scene itself.
The painting is painted from my own reference photo taken from a hike in Sutro Baths.
